Scope of Work:  The Port of Sunnyside is requesting bid proposals for rock removal. The project is out for bid using the MRSC Small Works Roster (see MRSC Roster Project ID# above).

This work includes removing two piles of crushed concrete in preparation for wheel line irrigation.  The contractor is required to review the quantity of stockpiled material that is currently onsite to be removed.     

All Port projects are to be performed paying prevailing wages on public works contracts. The Port requires Intents and Affidavits to be filed in accordance with Department of Labor and Industries. 

The Bidder/Contractors contacted using the MRSC Small Works Roster shall complete and submit bids no later than close of business April 22, 2025.  Once received, the lowest bid will be presented to the port commission for approval before moving forward with the project. 

Once the Bidder is awarded the project, the Contractor must notify the Port prior to beginning site activities.

General landscaping procedures:

  1. Comply with applicable codes and regulations for grading operations and safety of adjacent structures and the public.
  2. Use physical barriers to prevent access to areas that could be hazardous to workers or the public.
  3. Conduct operations to minimize effects on and interference with adjacent structures and occupants. Do not close or obstruct roadways or sidewalks.
  4. Conduct operations to minimize obstruction of public and private entrances and exits; do not obstruct required exits at any time; protect persons using entrances and exits from removal operations. 
  1. The successful Bidder must comply with all state and federal laws necessary to perform the scope of work herein; and must be currently in compliance with all applicable licensing, bonding and registration requirements imposed by Washington state and federal statutes and administrative rules.

Lot Condition:  The Contractor is required to level any areas disturbed but the rock removal.  Bidder is required to remove and replace any contaminated soil that results from the spillage of any fluids or hazardous materials from equipment associated with performing the grading and sitework.

Liability:  The Contractor shall provide and maintain a $1,000,000 of insurance that will cover any damage or injuries that may occur to property or persons while performing this work and contractor to add the Port as an additional insured on their liability policy and provide COI prior to performing work. The Contractor and any of the Contractor’s employees, act as agents of the company and not as an agent of the Port of Sunnyside. The Port of Sunnyside shall not be held liable for any action or damage that may occur as a result of the work performed.
