IWWTF Aeration Enhancements Project

At the heart of our commitment to sustainability and innovation, the Treatment and Operations Enhancement Project is transforming our treatment infrastructure to ensure optimal efficiency and environmental responsibility for years to come. This project, vital to our operational success, focuses on upgrading the lagoon treatment system to meet modern standards and improve performance.

With the completion of significant work already underway, the project involves the installation of new floating aerators and blower units at Lagoon 2/3, ensuring more effective aeration and treatment of wastewater. The new submerged outfall structure will enhance water flow, while modifications to the Anaerobic Lift Station (ALS) discharge piping will streamline operations for improved system reliability. We're also replacing aging infrastructure, including fencing and making plumbing modifications in key facilities like the UV disinfection building and the Bioreactor Feed Pump Station (BFPS).

The project’s contract was awarded to Rotschy Inc., following a highly competitive bidding process that resulted in a total contract price of $2,050,844.44. Since the start of the project, Rotschy Inc. has been diligently working to complete the necessary upgrades, including finishing the ALS discharge line and aerator wiring around Lagoon 2/3.

As of today, we’re proud to report that we’re about halfway through the work, with the overall project scheduled to be completed by April 21, 2025. This project reflects our ongoing dedication to improving our systems, safeguarding the environment, and ensuring the long-term success of our operations.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance our facilities for the future!
